Tommorow, I depart for England. My family goes every three years because my dad is from there. One of the things I am looking forward to are the birds. Right before Iwrote this (and probably after too) i was trying to hastily memorize bird songs. I was struck by how similar some of them are to the birds we are familiar with. For instance, marsh tit and blue tit (both related to chickadees) sound extremely similar to our black-capped chickadee. However, there are some serious differences too. For example, their kingfisher makes tsee sort of sound. Also, their nightjar makes a rattling noise. After the trip, I will notify you about the birds I see.

Good birding!
